Nerlens Noel Agrees to Contract with Brooklyn Nets
Free Agent Center to Sign 10-Day Deal
New Addition Bolsters Nets' Frontcourt Depth
Free agent center Nerlens Noel has reached an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets, according to his agent, George Langberg.
Noel reportedly inked a 10-day contract with the team, which is in need of additional depth in the frontcourt. The 28-year-old was recently bought out by the Detroit Pistons after averaging 2.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 13 appearances this season.
The 6-foot-11 center brings a wealth of experience to the Nets, having spent time with the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks during his NBA career. Noel is known for his defensive prowess, particularly his ability to block shots. He has averaged 1.5 blocks per game over his career.
The addition of Noel provides the Nets with a potential upgrade over Day'Ron Sharpe, who has been inconsistent at times this season. Noel's arrival also coincides with the return of star forward Kevin Durant, who is set to make his Nets debut on Wednesday after missing the first 21 games of the season due to injury.
With the Nets currently sitting at 11-11, the signing of Noel could provide a much-needed boost to their frontcourt rotation and help them make a push for the playoffs.
